Hey guys! So I have another question from someone who wanted to know does coconut oil have high amounts of cholesterol. The answer is NO. Only animal-based foods contain cholesterol. Coconuts are not animal-based foods so the answer is no. Next question, does coconut oil have saturated fats? The answer is yes, it does. But not cholesterol. And then can coconut oil increase LDL cholesterol? Yes it can but it also increases HDL and the last question is do increasing either one of these (LDL and HDL) increase your chance of getting heart attack and stroke? Absolutely not. Consuming coconut oil will not affect your heart in any negative way, shape or form. It can actually help you, I put some links down below to give you some more data on that. Alright, thanks for watching!

  1. Hi Dr Berg, what is your opinion between consuming fresh coconut milk vs cooked coconut milk. Does consume either one has ill effect towards cardiovascular system…especially cooked coconut milk? Once coconut milk cooked….for instance in curry, they are healthy anymore? Looking forward to your answer. Thanks.

  2. Dr. Berg, can you comment on the recent article from Harvard professor

  3. Coconut oil is a miracle food in my opinion

  4. Hello Dr. Berg, I just found this video regarding coconut oil and the danger of it. Prof. Michels even says that coconut oil is the purest poison and that it clogs the coronary vessels. Could you please give me your opinion on it. Thanks very much an thank you for the great content. Cheers Jakob

  5. This isn't what the scientific literature tells us… Including from the World Health Organisation…

'ALL' OILS ARE BAD FOR YOU!

One doesn't even need to read the science…

Oils are 'processed foods', the human body isn't designed to intake fats in this processed, 'concentrated' way, it's just not natural…

Almost any nutritional argument can be won by merely asking the question… 'Is it natural?'

If the answers 'no', you shouldn't be eating it…

I'm sorry, but you're most definitely wrong on this point Dr Berg; science proves it!

Only eat fats from whole foods people…

  6. Taking Coconut oil makes me nauseous but I can cook with it. I think if you consume too much oil at one time it will make you nauseous, and giver you diarrhea.

  7. I have MCT oil to break my intermittent fasting, and for the past eight months I rub some on thinning areas of my hair twice a week and have earned significant results.

  8. Only natural source of lauric acid other than breast milk

  9. Who asks these stupid questions ?

  10. Dear Dr. Berg,
    Is coconut meat keto friendly?
    Regards

  11. But, for now, I'd use coconut oil sparingly. Most of the research so far has consisted of short-term studies to examine its effect on cholesterol levels. We don't really know how coconut oil affects heart disease. And I don't think coconut oil is as healthful as vegetable oils like olive oil and soybean oil, which are mainly unsaturated fat and therefore both lower LDL and increase HDL. Coconut oil's special HDL-boosting effect may make it "less bad" than the high saturated fat content would indicate, but it's still probably not the best choice among the many available oils to reduce the risk of heart disease.

  12. Thanks for that. You are #1.

  13. I was wondering about this.

  14. Don't believe the marketing hype. Yes it's because it smells and tastes great! Extra Virgin Olive oil and Flaxseed oil are not as trendy but they are the healthiest for the Heart. Everything in moderation for me.

  15. Coconut oil is a big marketing hype and it's because it tastes great and smells great! I use it from time to time but prefer different extra virgin olive oils and flaxseed oil in a salad which are the healthiest for the Heart.

  25. Dr. Berg
If we cannot travel is there a way to pay for the summit and watch it online?

  26. Coconut oil is the only oil I use to cook with now.

  27. Well that's just great,😞 if I drive there it will take 12 hours, and then, I would have to pay for a motel room cuz I can't be driving back and forth from NC to Washington to prevent paying for a motel room I can't afford. I am a school teacher with kid and am a single parent. I guess only the rich with a lot of time on their hands can go.😞

  28. The summit is in the… Gaylord hotel? Interesting name thats for sure

  29. In practice, coconut oil is bad.. You are wrong.. U need to increase ur research.. Learn some mathematics.. If coconut oil increases hdl and ldl to the same level.. It can be considered as bad.. To consider it as neutral, it has to increase hdl 3 times more than ldl which is not happening..

  30. Can you explain, my dad who is a pure vegetarian, uses coconut oil on a daily basis, had heart attacks and had to do bypass surgery.?
It can be nothing but coconut oil.. There is no other source of saturated fat in his food..

  31. Hi Dr. Berg,
I started Keto about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I had Bariatric surgery about 4 years ago and have slowly put back on 40 lbs. I don’t have a gall bladder and so I have started taking your Gallbladder formula. I ended up getting this “Keto Flu” and then tried to add more Sodium to my diet. I’ve also been doing IF 8/16. I lost 10 lbs in the first 2 weeks but today I weighed and I’m back up 4 lbs! 😭 I have also taken your nutritional yeast product for one day so far. Why am I gaining now??? Please help.

  32. Also, is Cholesterol even absorbed to a meaningful extent from the diet? I have heard that even the infamous Ancel Keys responded a clear 'No' to that.

  33. Is it true that coconut oil only should be consumed by people who live in hot-climate environments?

  34. How can we reverse multiple sclerosis attacks?

  35. Please talk about supplement ingredients like cellulose is it a sugar type?

  36. They have quietly removed limits on eating cholesterol…why quietly? They don’t want to admit it was bogus advice all along! High cholesterol is a symptom, not a cause…the damage starts with sugar and insulin…cholesterol showing up is the body’s attempts at repairs…
