By far, the most popular question asked by hardgainers is how to bulk up fast while still staying lean. Most answer that question by saying that it’s impossible to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. They say that these are two polar opposite goals that require to completely different calorie needs to achieve. I say…that’s not true. In fact, they can both be done at the same time if you take the right approach to your workout and nutrition.

In this video, I try to dispel the bulking and cutting myth once and for all to show you how to bulk up fast without sacrificing your current leanness. You don’t ever have to follow a bulking diet or special workouts to bulk up. Instead, you’ll learn how to get big fast by sticking to the only two things you ever need to focus on to get there.

A positive nitrogen balance and hypocaloric diet is the winning combination for hardgainers. This approach is the way to add muscle bulk and size, but of the clean variety. Dirty bulking is the process of adding size, but often comprised mostly of just excess body fat. Clean bulking is what we do at ATHLEAN-X. It’s the process of adding 100 percent lean athletic muscle.

So can you bulk up? Yes. Can you bulk up fast? Yes. Do you have to be fat half of the year to do it? Absolutely not.

  8. Best way to bulk from a personal experience:
    1. Have a targeted weight at the end of the bulk, say you are 138 pounds, you wanna get to 170 with 1 pound per week( This is my current goal, right now im 154)
    2. When bulking, carbs and fat are important, I recommend mass gainer. 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. When cutting, 1.5 gram of protein per pound since you wanna cut out most of carbs and fats from your diet, and your body needs protein so it doesnt lose muscle
    3. A lot of discipline, eating the same thing over and over again. But at the end you know it’s worth it!
    4. Before cutting, spend 3-4 weeks only cutting a little bit of calorie. If you are taking 3500 cal, cut it to 3100, not immediately to 2500. Your body needs adjustment and stabilizing the protein you just got

  9. What on earth 45 minutes only? What if you arnt super setting? Like chest and tricep day? Surely two muscle groups would take longer than 45 if you do 4 sets of 8-12 for 5-7exercises each (depending on your regiment)

  10. Wanna know what to do? Eat a lot of food/protein, and lift. Who gives a shit about sleep everybody gets sleep you shouldnt even have to mention it. It’s that simple. Eat and lift between 8-12 reps and the rest is history.
