THE MOST STUPID CARDIO ADVICE [Don't Follow This!]

I recently did a video about steady-state cardio vs HIIT and I got a LOT of negative comments… But one in special got my attention.

I believe this is the most STUPID cardio advice I have ever heard.

As you must know already, steady state cardio exercises are MUCH more effective than HIITs in order to burn fat. #burnfat #hiit #cardio

When HIIT workouts were first developed, they were super-quick, seven- to 10-minute routines designed so that you could perform your chosen form of cardio at maximum effort. True HIIT is like sprinting (should make you feel like your gas tank is completely empty) – if you’re doing a 30-second sprint during a HIIT interval, you shouldn’t be able to get to second 31 without wanting to collapse. When it comes to burning fat, steady cardio is still the BEST option. Not only it does burn more fat than HIIT because of the energy systems that it uses but HIIT does only work if you’re doing it right… Which you are not.

In this video I’ll explain WHY you should prefer steady cardio instead of HIIT for burning fat and why you’ll see much better results.

  2. I think your physics is wrong. Kinetic energy equals 1/2MV^2. Where M is mass and V is velocity. If you run 10 miles in 2hrs instead of 3hrs and mass stays equal, then your velocity went up. If that's the case your energy expenditure went up exponentially.

Even from a work perspective you're not accurate. Work=F*D = M*A*D, where F is force, D is distance, M is mass, and A is acceleration. Distance and Mass stay constant but your acceleration has to be higher in order to maintain the speed required to get to the destination faster. Overall, your message is right. Steady state cardio works fine even if you get efficient at it.

  3. Sounds like the metric should be increasing the distance your cover in set amount of time rather than decreasing the time you use to cover a set distance.

In other words go for an hour run rather than a 3 mile run. Try to increase the ground covered during that hour.

  4. John you look slim again nice

  5. As firas zahabi says," Do you wanna be a ferrari or a tow truck?"

One aspect of HIIT that was missed and is super important for athletes is that sprinting improves your explosiveness and overall athleticism, which are extremely important for dynamic sports.
There is a reason why marathon runners are skinny mofos with no muscle and all 100 and 200 m sprinters are jacked mofos with good muscle size.

  6. 30 minute of running each day makes me feel renewed man. Didn't think it would change my life but it did.

  7. I feel hiit is more for athletic components, gives you more of that explosive effect that you need for sports. long steady state cardio is more for weight control correct me if I'm wrong.

  8. It makes sense thank you for clearing this up

  9. Makes sense, never looked at it like this

  10. I believe in you are your practices (as you say, proof is in the puddin'), but I am interested in what you actually eat (and how much you eat) to do all this and still have muscles. I am sold on the OMAD idea (i fast around 16+ hours a day; not a one meal a day perse but still works well for me and all the growth hormone aid )- but I am still not sure if I am eating properly and how to make the switch to OMAD since I cant imagine how the plate(s) would even look like. Anyways, fantastic video, keep them coming…

  11. is 9 minutes your absolute fastest or just a sustainable pace for that distance?

  12. otherwise, I'm right, you are wrong, f u, all right, make sure you subscribe…

    Haha

  13. "I'm right…you're wrong, FUCK YOU!!!" :)))))))))))

  14. I disagree. You need to do compounds for maximum effect. However avoid squats and deadlifts as they hurt the back. I prefer bodyweight exercises because natural is always superior.
