How To Monitor Your Blood Pressure at Home

  1. Thanks for this wonderful video. But can you tell me the brand and model of your tiny stethoscope, and where I can buy one? Thanks!

  4. Can you make a head to toe assessment video with woman patient ?

  5. Lovely Korotkoff sounds and cuff looks nice on your arm Doctor ; )

  8. Great video. My BP is 125/89. According to my meter I'm prehypertension. Started taking BP daily. I'm using Lisinopril Ratiopharm 20 mg prescribed by my doctor. Subscribing to your channel doc. Thank you!

  9. I did not know when you saw the heart beat flickering it meant your heart rhythm was irregular. Wow. Mine does that all of the time, but I have a different type of blood pressure monitor.

  10. A very good video. I used a Omron HEM 7130 some years ago, and it is good when you have to take BP (Blood Pressure) with a palpitating heart. I found that it works better if you use it once a week, rather than once every 4 months like I did. Digital monitors, even Tv's I found , work better with regular use.

I replaced it with a cheap $50AUD unit and found that it reads error when your heart palpitates, or starts inflating again – not satisfied.

If you just have to take BP in the car like I do, then Omron do make a wrist monitor, so you don't need to take off clothing, and its especially good to take BP for a 92yr old mother like I got. And if she/you have Parkinsons or any tremor on one arm, then that will cause interference on the monitor, so use the other arm. Beware though, I have found the wrist monitor to be plus 10points higher than the normal monitor. Still, if the wrist monitor reads 140 / 150 systole, best to see the doctor.

If you have an older car (mines a 1974 Datsun), and have modified the spark plug leads to unsupressed/straight wire leads (they are still available or can be made), then anything digital,
BP momitors, multimeters etc., will show interference within a metre or two of the leads. I have changed to low supressed leads.
And now, its time to attend to the old cheese.
